6 Days Exclusive Luxury Rwanda Safari with Mountain Gorilla Trek.

This high-end Safari takes you to the Savannah of Akagera National Park for game viewing plus the amazing sunset boat cruise, and to the Volcanoes National Park for a once in a lifetime mountain gorilla trekking experience plus Golden Monkey trek. Prepare for the scenic drives around the country and immersing yourself in authentic Rwandan culture at the Gorilla Guardian Village. This is a private tour undertaken in either 4 X 4 Vehicle or a touristic Vehicle.

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali International Airport – Transfer.

Pick-up from Kigali International Airport and transfer to JW Marriott Hotel (FB). City Tour and Visit to Kigali Genocide Memorial Museum. 

Day 2: Road Transfer to Akagera National Park (approx. 3 hours drive). 

Breakfast by 0700hrs. Proceed thereafter to Akagera National Park arriving by 1100 hours by the North gate where your driver guide will hand you over to Magashi Tented Camp driver guide. You will then drive for 45 minutes to Magashi Tented Camp. Magashi Tented Camp is situated in the productive and phenomentally diverse north-eastern corner of Akagera National Park, overlooking the beautiful scenic Lake Rwanyakazinga. You will twice daily schedule camp activities, which include morning game drives, boat cruises, fishing, on a catch and release basis and in evening game drives. 

Dinner and Overnight at Magashi Tented Camp (FB).

Day 3: Akagera National Park – Camp Schedule.

On this day, you will pick up where you left off and proceed with the Camps activities. The activities will be extra interactive looking for tracks and signs in the bush, trying to recognize bird sounds and identifying animals big and small.

Day 4: Road Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 5 hours drive).

After an early morning breakfast at the Camp, drive from the North Gate and head back to Kigali for a stop over and Lunch. Proceed thereafter to Volcanoes National Park in Kinigi, best known as the region’s Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary.

Along the way enjoy magnificent scenes of the beauty of the Country and discover the aesthetic views of the Rwandan landscape. Upon arrival check in at Bisate lodge.

In the afternoon, you may undertake an optional excursion, visit the Ellen DeGeneres campus of the Dian Fossey gorilla fund. A multi acre eco-friendly facility adjacent to the Volcanoes National Park designed to serve as a gateway to the conservation efforts towards protecting Mountain Gorillas, the place is full of Dian Fossey interesting conservation stories and research work. Alternatively, you may spend the rest of your day at leisure, enjoying amenities at your lodge and preparing for the mountain gorilla trek ahead . Dinner and Overnight at Bisate Lodge (FB).

Day 5: Volcanoes National Park for Gorillas Trek + Cultural Experiences.

Breakfast by 0630am. Depart thereafter and head to Volcanoes National Park arriving at the Park headquarters at Kinigi for gorilla briefing at 07h00. Transfer thereafter to your starting point of your guided walk, ready to begin this amazing adventure at 08h00.

Gorilla trekking in Rwanda is often described as “life changing” and with good reason. Hikes in the mountains can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 4 hours, depending on the family allocated to your group and their location. The journey back can take  just as long, but you are often carried along by the euphoria you feel after the gorillas. For gorilla trekking, you will be in the rainforest, so it will more than likely rain. Warm clothing is required as well as walking/hiking boots, a hat and lightweight poncho/raincoat. Garden gloves, to avoid stinging nettles and gaiters are recommended. 

Lunch will be served at your Lodge.

In the afternoon Visit a cultural experience, at the Gorilla Guardian formerly ibyi’wacu Cultural language. It is a place of fun and full of Rwandan history and ancient stories. Feel free to take part in their traditional dance.  Dinner and Overnight at Bisate Lodge (FB).

Day 6: Undertake Golden Monkey  trek – Departure.

After breakfast you will proceed to the Park headquarters  to meet your guides for  Golden Monkeys trekking , enjoy them play plus doing their daily activities., then after completing your experiences return to your Lodge. Lunch at your Lodge. Later in the afternoon check-out . If you have time you may shop around for souvenirs and crafts from the market and malls.

Thereafter transfer to Kigali International Airport for your out-bound flight.
